The Conifers Care Group is a small, family-owned business, established in 1984. We provide a variety of services to older people at our homes in Trafford, Manchester and Chester, including long-term, short-term and respite care. I am actively involved in the running of the Homes and visit them frequently. My wife spends most of her working day at the Conifers Rest Home in Trafford, as do my daughters at the Oaklands Nursing Home in Chester. |

Residents of and visitors to our Homes often comment on their happy and homely atmosphere. We value this quality, keeping it at the forefront of our minds whilst establishing an environment of warmth, comfort and security. Many of our dedicated team - of management, nurses, careers, housekeepers, caterers and specialist support workers - have been with us for years. |

Our members of staff understand the needs of people whose sight, hearing or communication is impaired, and have skills in mobility and guiding. We have a strong commitment to staff training, and a good support base for its development, reflected by our homes’ accreditation of the Investor in People Standard . |

When clients are asked why they chose Oaklands in particular, as well as the surroundings, most mention the friendly and homely atmosphere; and this feeling remains with them during their time of stay. |

We strive to provide a better service, and thus encourage residents, relatives and friends to keep in touch and share information with us, as it does everyone good to hear when they are doing well. When there are even little things that a client fancies or needs, we will do our best to make it possible. Likewise, like all of us, we like to know when we have not quite ‘got it right’. This is an important part of our continuous quality review and evaluation, in which we maintain our standards through internal and external inspections. We are registered with the Care Quality Commission. |

Above all, we are a team. We seek to help and support residents and their families to achieve a quality of life that they may be unable to support alone, at home. We want each of our residents to remain as free-thinking and individual as possible. |
